Description

A Labrador Doctor. The Autobiography of Sir Wilfred Thomason Grenfell. With introduction by Sir Henry Richards, C.B., L.L.D. In 1892 The Royal National Mission to Deep Sea Fishermen sent Grenfell to Newfoundland for the purposes of care of the local inhabitants and fishermen. Over a period of years he set up cottage hospitals along the coast of Labrador and expanded the mission work to include schools and other requirements for the locals. He was later knighted by King George V for his services to these people. The book has light foxing along the page edges and the covers are faded but the book remains tight and bright.
