Description

Aku-Aku. The Secret of Easter Island by Thor Heyerdahl. When Thor Heyerdahl returned to the South Sea Islands - eight years after the adventurous voyage in the Kon-Tiki - his goal was Easter Island, the island of the mysterious giant statues that had puzzled all the world's scientists for centuries past. Easter Island is the loneliest habitation in the world. Its only regular contact with the outside world is a Chilean warship, which pays it a short visit once a year. The dust jacket is well worn with a large section missing from the lower edges and tape repair across the top edge. The book however remains in a very tidy condition.
