"That's what Grandpa said." Written by Tom Newth. A small self published booklet compiled by Tom Newth on the history of the Gardner family in Australia. 'Colin Gardner arrived in Melbourne in 1853 from Glasgow, Scotland at the age of 18 years. He later started a farm on the Tea Garden Creek, known as 'Home Farm' in 1860. He then opened a store at Milawa, built the Commercial Hotel and opened a butcher's shop. By 1880 he was a J.P., Councillor, Postmaster, Publican, Storekeeper, Grazier, Farmer, Registrar of Births and Deaths, and controlled the Electoral Register. A tidy and informative work.
