Shop Boy the autobiography of John Birch Thomas. John Birch was born in 1860 within the sound of Bow Bells. He had two sons and one daughter, and was married for sixty years. He established his own shop - J. B. Thomas & sons: Tea, Coffee and Tobacco Merchants - at 'The Old Cigar Shop' in Kingston. The building still exists and the author is remembered by local people. He did not retire until in his seventies, and died in 1952. Small tape repair to the inside front page but the book remains tight and bright.
