He has lived in the South Island of New Zealand for over thirty years. The poems in this volume are a return to his family roots on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales, Australia. Strength in Adversity follows the life, times and exploits of his great-great-great grand-father on his journey after being falsely accused, sentenced to death, commuted and sent as a convict to Australia. Initially transported to the penal settlement in Sydney, then to Moreton Bay, Port Macquarie, he finally became an early pioneer of Kempsey and the MacLeay Valley district.
