Whistle for the Crows (Hard Cover)
Description
Whistle for the Crows by Dorothy Eden. A novel by a New Zealand Author. This dramatic and exciting novel is set in Ireland and concerns a poverty stricken old land-owning family and the young widow who is ghosting their family history. Her employer, Miss O'Riordan, is a magnificent old lady who vies with her nephew Rory for the headship of the family. Cathleen soon discovers that the private lives of the present embers of the family are more fascinating than past scandals; Aunt Tilly's enigmatic relationship with the younger brother, Liam, her tyrannical treatment of the lame sister, the sale of heirlooms to pay gambling debts, the mysterious death of the eldest brother and the rumours which are rampant about his wife and child. The inside front end page has been removed but overall a very tidy copy.
