Making Old-Fashioned Dolls by Venus A. Dodge. With drawings by Martin Dodge. Venus Dodge is a professional doll-maker and she presents this soft cover edition of her book covering the process of how to make old-fashion dolls. The period she covers is 1750 to 1950 and shows the various materials used over this time range. Material including cloth, felt, wood, wax and clay. The dolls range from wealthy children;s toys like the Georgian wooden doll (page 34) and the French fashion doll (page 58) to simple rag dolls and 'penny woodens' which would have been available to all children. The book contains clear step-by-step instructions and drawings for each doll along with scalable clothing plans and a series of full colour photos for each finish project. A very large book that will require additional freight.
