'The early years of the Pirates Club have already been covered in the 1933 publication which marked the first 50 years of the club. In 1946 the 60th Anniversary was held. It had been held over from the 1943 order that the returning troops could attend the celebrations. The main purpose of this publication is to close the gap in the club's history from 1947 onwards.' From the Author's Preface by J. C. Hardy. The booklet has a pronounced curle but it remains tight and bright.
