Description

The New Encyclopedia of Handguns by Christopher Chant. 'This book explores the development of the hand weapon, via the invention of the percussion cap in the 1830s and the development of smokeless nitrocellulose propellants in the 1870s, to the increasingly complex and diverse family of weapons manufactured from about 1900. These guns range from single-shot personal defence pistols to the modern military personal weapons capable of high rates of fire with lightweight but highly lethal ammunition. Between these two extremes are sporting guns, revolver and automatic pistols, bolt-action rifles, automatic rifles, assault rifles, sub-machineguns, light machineguns, shotguns and riot-control weapons. These have all played a major part in two World Wars - and have contributed greatly to the evolution of modern society. The dust jacket has a small tape repair but the book remanes in a bright and tight condition. A VERY LARGE BOOK THAT WILL REQUIRE ADDITIONAL FREIGHT.
