Description

Many A Green Isle by Judy Tudor. One may suppose that the South Pacific Islands generally are similar. Palm-fringed shores, coral reefs, encircling either strings of tree-clad islets or picturesque mountains; shining beaches; smiling brown Islanders - the picture conforms to a pattern, depending whether it is an atoll, or an extinct volcano, or an upthrust mass of coral. For those who do not know Islands life, this book is an entertaining record. For those who do, there is much to praise and something to resent - especially by bureacratic folk and theorists whose toes are, in places, trodden on rather sharply. The dust jacket has some small chips and light rubbing but the book remains in a tidy condition. Previous owners name or inscription on inside front page.
