Description

Kindred Spirits: A Botanical Correspondence by Anne Latreille. Letters by Jean Galbraith. Drawings by Joan Law-Smith. 'Kindred Spirits is the story of a botanical correspondence. Two remarkable women were drawn together in mid-career through the medium of botany, and through their shared love of plants and the natural world. Jean Galbraith, the noted botanist, naturalist and writer, came into contact with Joan Law-Smith when she taught Joan botany to help her realise her long-held dream of becoming a botanical artist. Lessons, letters and drawings were posted back and forth between Jean's home in Gippsland and the grazing property where Joan lived in Victoria's Western Districts. This correspondence, evoking a gentle, more leisurely era, became the basis for a lasting friendship. Jean and Joan found that despite their vastly difference lives and backgrounds they were, indeed kindred spirits.' The dust jacket has light general wear. But the book remains in a very tidy condition.
