Southward Car Museum. 'The Museum Trust is a charitable trust, incorporated in 1972, with the object of preserving for posterity what is believed to be the largest and most varied collection of motor vehicles in the Southern Hemisphere. To properly house and display the collection a permanent museum was built on a six hectare site close to State Highway One, north of Paraparaumu. The museum was officially opened to the public in December 1979. The members of the trust are: Sir Len and Lady Southward, Messers Roy and John Southward and Jack Watson.'
