Return to Ferrymead. 'This booklet comes to you from the Tramway Historical Society (Inc.) and the Canterbury Branch of the New Zealand Railway and Locomotive Society, Inc. At Ferrymead, these two societies, in conjunction with the Museum of Science and Industry, Canterbury, Inc. are constructing tramway and railway lines on which restored tramcars and railway trains, representative of the development of these forms of transport over the past century, will be operated to carry passengers. These lines will connect Ferrymead Historic Park at one end with the Museum of Science and Industry at the other. A total of nearly one hundred acres of land, owned by the Museum of Science and Industry and partly by the Heathcote County Council, will be developed as an historic park and science museum over the few years.'
