Safe Haven. Riverton 1935 - 1985 by E. E.(Ted) Pankhurst. Signed by the author. One of the oldest European settlements in New Zealand, Riverton has been studied and written about on a number of occasions. A book entitled "Early Records of Riverton and District" was produced in 1936 to mark the centennial of the town. It traced Riverton history over those first hundred years through the memories of some of the early settlers. This present book endeavours to pick up the story and follow it through to the present day (1985). The dust jacket has some tape ghosting left from an older clear cover but otherwise as bright as new. The book may has a previous owners inscription on an inside front page but the book is a very tidy copy of a scarce title.
