Commercial Flower Growing by John P. Salinger. The author graduated in Horticulture at Reading University in 1939. After service with the British Army he joined the United Kingdom National Agricultural Advisory Service, at its inception, as a Horticultural Advisory Officer in Hertfordshire, a county well known both for its glasshouse industry and for the variety of its horticultural activities. He came to New Zealand over 30 years ago as Senior Adviser in ornamentals in the Department of Agriculture. In this position he liaised with all major cut flower growers and nurserymen, spoke at courses, wrote articles and maintained contact with overseas authorities. This book is a culmination of fifty-plus years' horticultural experience, constantly maintained up to date. While seeking appropriately from overseas research and practices, it is written entirely from th New Zealand viewpoint. A LARGE BOOK THAT WILL REQUIRE ADDITIONAL FREIGHT.
